Shopping in Sorrento is as diverse as the town itself with all types of shops both stretching down Corso Italia, and scattered around the narrow streets of the old town. The usual tourist trinkets and gifts (leather bags, brightly coloured crockery) are well represented as well as Sorrento's famous limoncello liqueur, and oil paintings of local landscapes. However it is just the place to take a gentle "passegiata" before or after your evening meal.

| "Passegiata" | Time to Eat? |
As the light drops Sorrento starts to come alive and in Piazza Tasso the traffic becomes predominantly human. Of course there are plenty of different places to eat "al fresco" or indoors serving predominantly Italian food from simple pizza to a multi course meal of pasta, fish or meat and of course diet busting sweets.

| A quiet game of cards? | Arrive in style |
However the centre is not just for tourists, particularly at the weekends, as locals come out to enjoy a coffee, game of cards or just to hang out with their friends. Although it certainly caters (well) for foreign tourists you are still definately in Italy!
